Author's POV

I should've known better, I suppose it's my fault for matching the two up. It's another day I see her, [name], and she always has a bruise to hide. It's why she tends to stay in the back of the class, hoping not to get noticed by others. I sit right next to her in English, which just so happens to be the class we're in right now.

"Hey, [name]."

"Hm? What is it Cassandra?"

"Did he hurt you again?" She glanced at me in terror, shaking her head. "Just checking. He's not the nicest of men after all." And just who was I referring to? The Cuban guy in the front of the class, Juan. Ever since I made the suggestion that the two could be a nice couple, she just happened to admit she was head over heels for him. So, naturally I put up a bit of a blind date and well, they started out just fine! I wonder when it all fell down...I took a glance to Berwald, one of my friends and quite popular around the school for being a strong silent type. He DID fit the mold perfectly, which is why I assumed people liked him so much.

Did I hear that correctly? He was humming something, a tune I was familiar with. I glanced to [name] and then back to Berwald. Even though my first attempt was wrong, a new plan was forming in my head. Perhaps [name] would go better with mister strong-and-silent over here. The question now was how was I going to get Juan away from [name], since he was...controlling to say the least. And abusive. Okay perhaps that's not the BEST way to say it but you get it, right?

After class, Juan quickly pulled [name] away, prompting me to follow the two.

"Cassandra?" I turned, seeing Berwald behind me.

"So, you're concerned about [name]'s safety too?" He nodded. "It seems that he's taking her off campus. Shall we follow them?" He nodded.

Infinite despise
and endless jealousy
Bottled in my soul
Has erupted as I'm
tearing through the skies

Third Person POV

Cassandra and Berwald followed the couple as they left the school through the forest bordering the southern border of the school.

"Juan! Where are we going?" Came your terrified voice.

"Shut it!" Cassandra winced at Juan's sharp voice and the sharp smack that followed. Grasping Berwald's wrist for support, they followed the two deeper into the woods. Juan spoke rapid Spanish underneath his breath, Cassandra figured he was insulting [name]. At last, they stopped in front of a large oak. Cassandra dragged Berwald behind a tree, watching the scene before them. Juan pulled out some rope, tying it around [name]'s wrists.

"Juan, what are you doing?" He didn't respond as he tied her to a thick tree branch. "Juan! Juan!" She cried, pulling against the rope. He turned away, [name] finally realizing that he was going to leave her for dead. "JUAN! PLEASE DON'T!" She begged as he walked away.

Berwald stepped in front of him, not letting him escape.

Days turned into years
and into centuries
Patience had to fade
Don't you see that there is
vengeance in my eyes?

Cassandra watched as Juan dared to try and start a fight with the Swede, possibly to attempt taking him down and leaving him for dead as well. Berwald quickly overpowered him, being much stronger then Juan expected. She ran over to [name], cutting the rope free.

"Cassandra! What are you doing here?"

"What does it look like? Freeing you and taking Juan to the police for charges of assault and attempted murder?" [Name] seemed shocked by this, but nodded and went along with it.

Luna won't you cry for me?
I'm as lonely as I've ever been
I am forced back into the start
Is there any way to fix a broken heart?

Author's POV

A few months later...

So, I got [name] and Berwald together, Juan got thrown into jail for his crimes against her, and all ends happily ever after right? Well, as far as I've heard, it's all fine and dandy. Heck, even Tino tells me that [name]'s injuries are recovering nicely, from what he heard from Berwald. I still wonder about Juan. Is he doing fine in his jail cell?
