Oh Valentines day. Otherwise, to you, forever alone day. It became fact that you had no intention of getting a boy of your own. Mostly because you had too much academics on your plate. Elizabeta thought otherwise.
"Oh come on [name]! At least try!" She whined. You sighed.
"Look, the chances of me getting a boy are on in a million. Just drop it!" You snap at her. She shrugs casually.
"Heck, Roderich made time for me. If he can do that then you can make time with any boy!"
"Elizabeta..." You were about to say something when she cut you off loudly.
"I HAVE AN IDEA!" She shot up into the air. Your palm met your face.
"Five bucks it fails." You mutter. She laughs.
"Hey, I know a certain boy who's been crushing on yoooou!" She said in a singsong voice. "You know, the talent show is coming up, just in time for Valentine's Day!"
"Is it Ravis? Or Peter?" You moan. She giggles.
"You gotta come and see!" She sang.
"Jeez, Elizabeta! It's not gonna make me feel any better! Heck, it'll probably be the school pervert FRANCIS of all people!" You snap. Elizabeta froze, an evil glimmer in her eye.
"That Frenchman? We both know that he's gay for Arthur."
"If you count Arthur's endless abuse as 'love'" you mutter, unintentionally shuddering.
"Don't worry about it! Just come to the show, okay?"
"Fiiine. If it makes you happy."
You sat in the front row impatiently, thinking about all the homework you'd miss out working on. Damn your workaholic streak! Well, the show was good, starting off with Ivan, Francis, Yao, Alfred, and Arthur with a rather creepy song. After that was Gilbert and Matthew with a hilarious routine involving maple syrup. The show went on nicely, even though the temptation to leave was strong.
"Our last performance is from Romano Vargas with a song of his own composition. Good luck Romano!" You raised an eyebrow. Romano was in the show? That was something new. Romano went out onto the stage with a guitar and a stool. He set the stool down in front of the mic, got on it, and looked out into the crowd.
"This...is for someone special." He spoke hesitantly. After fiddling around with the guitar for a couple minutes, he began.
"For the longest time
I've been alone
But you waltz right in
my loneliness fades away
All I wanted was a smile from you
but you turn away.
No time for smiles you say
And you don't know how it hurts.
So bury yourself in your books
In dreary worlds without color
While I just stand, crying silent tears
You're tearing me apart, can't you smile for me?" He breaks off for a guitar solo. You sit there, understanding it all: It was Romano who crushed on you.
"So don't mind me, take your time
I'll wait, despite the pain, for that smile.
I'll wait until the world ends, just to see that smile.
Take your time, bury yourself in books
In dreary worlds without color
And I'll watch and wait, watch and wait
Waiting for that glimpse of a smile.
Oooh yeah, I'll just watch...and...wait..." He ended his song with another guitar solo. When it ended, the crowd went wild! An intense blush appeared on his face as he ran offstage, leaving the stool in its place.
"WOW! That was AWESOME!" Elizabeta cried. You were silent, brooding over his song. "Hey! [name]! Come on, why so glum?!" You look up to her.
"That song..." You murmur. You stood up, gave her a glance, and ran to the backstage to find Romano. You accidentally run into Antonio.
"Sorry! I'm looking for Romano!"
"He's up on the roof." You quickly thank him and run up to the roof. The moon was high in the sky and a soft breeze blew gently, ruffling your hair. You saw Romano, gazing into the moon and playing the guitar sadly.
"Take your time, bury yourself in books
Never knowing my love for you.
Ti amo darling, ti amo.
Know that I love you...ooh" He sang before ending it with a sigh.
"Romano..." You whisper, a little louder then you wanted. He turned sharply, surprised.
"[n-name]!" He stammered. You turn away with a blush.
"That was a pretty nice song, you know. Who was it for?"
"Umm...you actually." He said nervously. You slowly walk up to him.
"Thank you Romano. Nobody has ever done that for me before." You say softly.
"Umm...you're welcome." He placed the gitaur on the floor. "Will...will you be my Valentine?" He asked. You leaned close to him, smiling.
"Of course." You murmured before you kissed him with a gentle peck on the lips.
"[n...name]...ti amo." He whispered.
"Love you too Romano."
